About Home Massage Spain

I left school at 16 and jumped straight into the travel industry, booking business trips for VIP clients. It was an incredible opportunity that allowed me to see some amazing places, but deep down, I felt a pull toward something more personal and impactful. In my early 20s, I decided to retrain and enrolled in night school to study Aromatherapy Massage. That decision changed my life.

I discovered a passion for holistic treatments and spent two years as a mobile therapist, traveling around my local area in the North West of England, bringing relaxation and healing to my clients' doorsteps. The freedom and joy I found in this work solidified my commitment to the wellness industry. Seeking to expand my expertise, I moved to the Midlands in 2003 and enrolled in college to study beauty therapy.

By 2006, I had opened my first salon. It was a huge milestone, and I loved every minute of it. I cherished the connections I made with my clients and the sense of community that developed. But life had other plans. In 2008, my daughter Amelia was born three months prematurely, and a year later, my son Albert arrived two months early. With no family close by to support us, I made the tough decision to close the salon and move back home.

In 2012, I opened my second salon, and it felt like coming home. The business thrived, and every day was filled with laughter and loyal clients. It never felt like work because I loved what I did. But, with my husband, Ash, working away all week, I was stretched thin, working long hours from Monday to Friday. We had always talked about moving abroad but never knew where to start.

In 2018, my parents decided to move to Spain. They did all the research and found Frigiliana, a beautiful place that offered a slower pace of life. After three years, and a lockdown that gave us time to reflect, we decided to follow them. We wanted to show our children a different way of life, where we could spend more time together without the pressures of long work hours and Ash being away all week.

I moved to Spain knowing I didn't want to run another big salon with staff and endless hours. I wanted to focus on the treatments I loved, so the idea for Frigiliana Wellness was born. Mobile massaging in beautiful locations seemed like the perfect fit. For me, giving holistic treatments is as therapeutic as receiving them. Knowing that I've helped someone relax and unwind is incredibly rewarding.

Whenever I go on holiday, I always treat myself to a massage. It helps me fully relax and de-stress from everyday life, so I thought, why not offer this experience to people visiting Frigiliana and the surrounding areas? And what better way than having the treatment at home, where they can fully relax without the need to travel to and from an appointment?

Working in stunning locations with my mum has been such fun, and it never feels like "work." We've had countless "pinch me" moments, massaging outside in the sunshine, looking out at breathtaking views. It's certainly different from working in a treatment room on a rainy high street in England!

After two years of Frigiliana Wellness, I decided to expand our services to other areas in Spain. I wanted to help more people fully switch off and relax on their holidays and offer other therapists the opportunity to grow their businesses within an uplifting community. Many therapists work alone, especially mobile therapists. My vision for Home Massage Spain was to create a community where like-minded professionals could work together and support each other.

And that's how Home Massage Spain came to be. It's a dream that combines my love for holistic treatments, travel, and community, all in one beautiful package.
